They ar...So 'dragon eyes' are Lychee fruit. They are AMAZING and you should eat as many of them as you can because you won't be able to find them in the states. They have a short life span and apparently don't ship well (you will see them at chinese buffets but they are canned ones and not nearly as good). I've scoured Chinatown markets for fresh Lychee and have never found them!!! The fruit in the summer time there is just fabulous! <br /><br />I really liked Hangzhou when we went there. We got to visit a buddhist temple. Did you see Xi'Hu (the west lake?). I was there in the summer time so it was just incredibly beautiful! We went to a tea plantation in Hangzhou as well...it was pretty but I don't really like the tea. We also ate 'beggars chicken' which was a whole chicken cooked in a brown paper bag...apparently Hangzhou was famous for that as well!
